Privacy Policy

1. Who runs this site

Tamil UI, also referred to as Tamil Design System on the site, is an independent public-awareness and open-source design project by Selva Kumar K. It is not an official government service, employer product, client project, or legal service.

2. Information intentionally collected by Tamil UI

The public website is designed to work without accounts. Tamil UI does not intentionally collect names, phone numbers, addresses, identity documents, payment data, or sensitive personal information from ordinary browsing.

3. Information stored in your browser

Some preferences are saved locally on your device so the site feels consistent when you return.

• Language preference for Tamil or English UI examples.
• Accessibility settings such as text size, contrast, reduced motion, image visibility, and reading helpers.
• Theme or sidebar preferences used by UI primitives.
• Arcade/game best scores stored locally for learning exercises.
• Ration shop preview data stored locally when using the demo block. This is mock data for demonstration and should not contain real citizen records.

4. Privacy scanner tool

If you enter a URL in the privacy scanner, the server fetches that public page, converts the page text for analysis, and returns the result to your browser. Do not submit private intranet URLs, password-protected pages, confidential employer material, customer data, or personal documents. Tamil UI does not intentionally store scanner submissions as a product database, but hosting providers may keep technical logs.

5. Server and hosting logs

Like most websites, the hosting provider may automatically process technical logs such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, referrer, timestamp, and error information for security, reliability, abuse prevention, and debugging. Tamil UI uses this only to keep the site available and safe.

6. Cookies and local storage

Tamil UI currently relies mainly on localStorage for preferences. Some UI primitives or hosting layers may use small technical cookies for interface state, routing, or security. Tamil UI does not use cookies to sell data or build advertising profiles.

7. Third-party content and external links

The site links to or embeds services such as GitHub, npm, YouTube, Instagram, official government pages, and documentation sources. When you open those sites or play embedded media, their own privacy policies and tracking practices apply. Tamil UI is not responsible for those external services.

8. Children and sensitive data

Tamil UI is an educational design resource. It is not intended to collect personal data from children or process sensitive personal data. Do not submit personal, biometric, health, financial, government ID, citizen record, or workplace-confidential data into any demo or tool.

9. Your choices

• You can clear localStorage and cookies in your browser to reset site preferences.
• You can avoid entering URLs or content into tools if the content is private or confidential.
• You can use browser privacy controls, content blockers, or private browsing if preferred.
• You can contact the project if you believe personal data or copyrighted material appears on the site by mistake.
