Form patterns for Tamil Nadu digital products. Every form ships with Tamil labels first, followed by English — making it natural for Tamil speakers while remaining accessible to all.

Form design guidelines
Place the Tamil label first, followed by a slash and the English label in a muted style.
தமிழ் லேபிளை முதலில் வைக்கவும், அதைத் தொடர்ந்து ஒரு சாய்வுக்கோடும் அதன் பின் மங்கலான பாணியில் ஆங்கில லேபிளும் இருக்க வேண்டும்.
Avoid placing English first or using the same font weight for both languages.
ஆங்கிலத்தை முதலில் வைப்பதையோ அல்லது இரண்டு மொழிகளுக்கும் ஒரே தடிமனுள்ள எழுத்துருவை (font weight) பயன்படுத்துவதையோ தவிர்க்கவும்.
Use realistic examples for placeholders (like a common name or a standard phone format).
இடப்பிடிப்பான்களுக்கு (placeholders) உண்மையான உதாரணங்களைப் பயன்படுத்தவும் (பொதுவான பெயர் அல்லது நிலையான தொலைபேசி வடிவம் போன்றவை).
Placeholders should not repeat the label or give instructions like 'Type here'.
இடப்பிடிப்பான்கள் லேபிளை மீண்டும் சொல்வதாகவோ அல்லது 'இங்கு தட்டச்சு செய்யவும்' போன்ற அறிவுறுத்தல்களைக் கொண்டதாகவோ இருக்கக்கூடாது.
- District select: Always include both Tamil and English district names. Never drop one.
- PIN / Aadhaar fields: Use numeric input mode, never mask Aadhaar fully — last 4 digits visible.
- Error messages: Must appear in both Tamil and English, announced to screen readers via
role="alert". - Required indicator: Use text (கட்டாயம்) rather than asterisk — asterisk is unclear in Tamil context.
